(2) It's not intended to be a retelling of 'Friend Like Me', or to tell a story with anything like the same scale or depth as 'Friend Like Me'. It was just an attempt to make that fic a bit less painful in my own head. It wasn't really written for public consumption at all, but I couldn't think of a good enough reason not to post it.
